Board of Education

The Birchwood School Board’s philosophy, vigorously endorsed by the community, is to aggressively seek ways to be the best school in the area, not merely to educate young people for productive employment, but to inspire them to become lifelong thinkers, problem solvers and contributors.

School Board Members:  School boards are the policy-making body for the school system, serving within the framework provided by the law, the will of the local citizenry, and the ethics of the education profession.

Governance Board Members:
The role of the Governance Board Members is to support the Birchwood Charter Schools and maintain their charter (businesslike contract) between the Birchwood School Board and the Birchwood Public Montessori, Birchwood Blue Hills Charter School, and Bobcat Virtual Academy.  The Wisconsin charter school law gives charter schools freedom from most state rules and regulations in exchange for greater accountability for results. The charter defines the missions and methods of the charter school
