Mrs. Sara Waldron-Archived

Mrs. Waldron and childrenTeacher Profile:  Mrs. Sara Waldron, Business and Information Technology teacher; Library Media Center Director; Future Business Leaders of America Adviser, Birchwood News Co-Advisor

Education Background:
I graduated from Hillsboro High School in 2002 and then attended Winona State University in Minnesota, where I received my bachelor’s degree in 2006 in Business Education with a minor in Training and Development.  I have been teaching in Birchwood since January of 2007.  In 2016 I received my master’s degree from Concordia University in Curriculum Development with an emphasis in technology and online learning.

About the Teacher:  Before moving to Birchwood, I grew up in south-western Wisconsin in the Village of Yuba (population 90).  My family consists of my husband, Chris, and our 3 daughters!  In my free time I enjoy spending time with family and friends, camping, sewing, playing cribbage, and just about anything technology related.  My dream is to design greeting cards and have them sold in stores!

Expectations:
My goal is to give students the tools they need to be successful in their current and adult lives.  I like to think outside of the box and learn in ways outside of the traditional realm of learning.  Often times we have epic fails in my classroom—but as long as we learned something, we’re getting somewhere!  I often tell my FBLA students, “If you’re going to screw up, screw up big (i.e. give it your all) because you only get to do this once!”  I expect students to be open minded, positive, hard-working, and willing to go a little outside of their comfort zones!
