We are currently hiring:

Superintendent

Person hired must be able to work well with staff, parents, students, community members and the school board to support and further develop district initiatives that are underway and that will be developed in the future.

PK-12 Music Teacher

The District is looking for a full time PK-12 music teacher who is innovative and creative and thinks outside the box.  Our current program is a combination of vocal and instrumental opportunities, allowing students to explore their interests and really excel.   Students are learning to play a variety of instruments including ukulele, guitars, chimes, drums, etc. while also creating their own vocal music through garage band and joint interests between students (duos and trios).  Check out our Facebook page for some of the students displaying their talents.  Having a music degree would be nice and having a personality that is creative is even better (with an idea of working toward a degree).  Our school has very small class sizes and so the current teacher has done some amazing things

Reading Specialist/Reading Teacher

The Birchwood School District is looking for an 80%-100% Reading Specialist (317) or Reading Teacher (316) for next school year and beyond due to a retirement. The candidate will work with small groups of K-8 students throughout the day. The person must be knowledgeable regarding current practice and must be able to lead teachers in modeling best instructional practices. Birchwood has small class sizes with respectful and enjoyable students and staff members. If you do not currently hold a 316 or a 317 but are willing to work toward the license and are interested in this position, please apply.

Part-Time Physical Education Teacher

This 80% physical education teacher will work primarily with K-8 students with the exception of a high school health class for a semester. The person must work well with others and enjoy working with young children.

We are currently looking for Substitute Teachers for all levels.

Please contact Diane Johnson or Jeff Stanley for information on any available positions.
